“Loves To Embarrass”: England Legend Blasted For Rohit Sharma “Is Past His Best” Comment | Cricket News

England provided zero resistance on the third day of the fifth Test against India with the hosts romping towards a big win. After England won the first Test, India came back with vengeance and stamped their authority. England’s performance has been on a downward curve still their win in the first Test. That win had prompted England great Geoffrey Boycott to blast an ‘aged’ Rohit Sharma. That comment has not gone down well with India social media users, especially after his recent good form which has seen him score two tons in the series.

“Their captain Rohit Sharma is nearly 37 and past his best. He makes pretty cameos but has only scored two Test hundreds at home in four years. They are also weak in the field. This India team is ripe for the taking, and England have a golden chance to be the first side to topple them on their own patch for 12 years. India badly miss Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja has a hamstring injury and will not play the second Test,” Boycott wrote in his column for the Telegraph.

“India are due a defeat at home. The signs are good, as they have lost Kohli, Jadeja, Mohammad Shami and Rishabh Pant and are playing opponents full of confidence after a remarkable win. England must take this rare opportunity.”

After Rohit Sharma’s second ton of the series on Friday, fans took to internet to blast the legend.

After disappointing in the first two Tests, the Indian captain has been fantastic with the bat during the second half of the series. In five matches and nine innings, Rohit has scored 400 runs at an average of 44.44, with two centuries and a fifty. His best score is 131. He is the fourth-highest run-getter in the series.
